Renaissance Photography Exhibition
I recently won a commendation in the Renaissance Photography Competition. The competition was judged by Martin Parr, Eamon McCabe, Charlie Waite and Bridget Lardinois and raises money for the Lavender Trust and Breast Cancer Care.
My image ('Louise and Dev', pictured here) will be part of the finalists exhibition that is open to the public at the IDEA GENERATION GALLERY and will be part of the Renaissance Photography book.
You can see all the winning images at www.renaissancephotography.org
My work in the British Journal of Photography
In September 2008 my work was published in the British Journal of Photography in a feature entitled 'Cream of the Crop' on up and coming photographic talent from MA courses around the UK. As this will probably never happen again I feel obliged to show off about it.
In[side]: New Work from Three Emerging Photographers
My work was recently part of a group exhibition at 3Bedfordbury Gallery, Covent Garden entitled 'In[side]:New Work from Three Emerging Photographers'.
My series of images, entitled 'Performance', is about the expression of female identity. These portraits of women in their twenties and thirties are intended to convey a sense of the tension of modern life, inviting the viewer into the subject’s space on an intimate but uneasy level. I'm interested in exploring the space between documentary and constructed photography and the ability of the photograph to articulate trauma and loss.
More than 300 people came through our doors in just four days. Thanks to everyone who came to the private view and during the week to support us.
